In search of bigger and better mountains to ski, Kris left his home state of Pennsylvania and headed west to explore the Rocky Mountains. The search was over quickly once he laid eyes on the Tetons. While cramming a lifetime worth of skiing, mountaineering, and climbing pursuits into a couple decades, his outdoor passions evolved and developed into a broader appreciation and understanding of the greater Yellowstone ecosystem including its waters. Kris morphed into a fly fishing angler during 15 years of river guiding on the Snake in Grand Teton NP. Nowhere is the life force of the ecosystem more present in Jackson Hole than the Snake River. He views fly fish guiding as a way of connecting with this life force on a deeper level, sharing fulfilling experiences and simply spending a day in the best way. He utilizes his local knowledge and experience combined with a strong backbone of oarsmanship to put you on fish. The art of rowing is synonymous with the fly cast on the Snake’s technical stretches, and this is where Kris’s skills and passion for the wild and scenic mountains and rivers meld and shine. He is equally happy with oars in his hands as he is with a fly rod.
