Snake River

The Snake River is one of the most cherished streams in the world of fly fishing. As a permitted outfitter in Grand Teton National Park and Bridger Teton National Forest, Snake River Angler offers mores sections of the river than any other outfitter in the region. Snake River full day trips occur on eight sections of river within Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest, and parcels under the authority of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). These are considered amongst the most beautiful sections of river on which we guide, with majestic views of the Teton Range, the Gros Ventre Range, and Snake River Canyon. Well over 95 percent of the trout on this river are native Snake River Fine-Spotted Cutthroat trout and Yellowstone Cutthroat trout. The Snake River is considered to have the strongest population of Native Cutthroat left in the Rocky Mountain West.

Green River and New Fork River

Wyoming’s Green and New Fork rivers are hidden gems in the fly fishing world. You will find some of the West’s largest Brown and Rainbow trout on these waters, as well as a growing population of feisty native Cutthroats. Best of all, these rivers are some of the least congested you will find in the Rocky Mountain West. It is not uncommon to find only a couple other boats on your section during a day’s fishing. On some days, your boat may be the only one on a particular reach of water! The Green and the New Fork drain the western side of the stunning Wind River Range. These mountains are always within view from the streams. Both rivers flow through Bureau of Land Management (BLM) parcels and multi-generational ranch land. The sheer amount of open range is truly breathtaking.

Almost all of the fishing on the Green and New Fork rivers is performed from a drift boat. One enjoyable feature of these rivers is their reliability for numbers and size no matter what type of tackle the angler wishes to use, be it small dry flies, large dry flies, nymphs or streamers. The Green and the New Fork offer something for everyone.

Time of Year: Memorial Day Weekend to the end of October depending on river conditions
Cost: $795.00

Yellowstone National Park River and Lake Trips

Yellowstone National Park offers some of the most storied water in the world of fly fishing. Our guided trips are offered on the Firehole, Gibbon, Madison, Lewis, Snake, and Yellowstone rivers, as well as Crayfish Creek and Lewis Lake. There is a nice mix of trout in Yellowstone National Park, including native Yellowstone and Snake River Fine-Spotted Cutthroat trout and introduced populations of Brown, Rainbow, and Mackinaw lake trout.

All trips are wade-fishing trips except for those conducted on Lewis Lake, which is provided via drift boat outfitted with 3.5 to 10 hp outboard motors. The stunning beauty and abundant wildlife of our Nation’s first national park is an added bonus to one of the great fly fishing venues in North American fly fishing.

Salt River

Time of Year: March 1st to end of November depending on river conditions
Cost: $795.00
Trip Duration: Full Day

The Salt River is a quaint trout stream that offers a change of pace for those who have experienced much of the other area waters and are looking for something different. It is a favorite amongst dry fly purists. The vast majority of the trout caught on the Salt River are native Snake River fine-spotted and Yellowstone cutthroat, with Brown and Rainbow trout making up the remainder. This stream presents a variety of fishable hatches, everything from big golden stoneflies to callibaetis to minute tricos. The Salt River is a great trout stream for beginning and novice anglers new to fly fishing as well as advanced and expert anglers looking for something new. The stream flows almost entirely through private ranch land.

Flat Creek Elk Refuge

Time of Year: August 1st to the end of October
Cost: Full day $595.00 / Half Day $495.00
Trip Duration: Full or Half Day

Flat Creek is amongst the most technical trout streams one can fish in the Rocky Mountain West. Trout abundance on this National Elk Refuge stream is almost exclusively comprised of Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout. Sight-fishing to rising trout is the norm, but expect to get down to 6X leader and highly imitative patterns to have any chance of success. Three or four fish is considered a good day, but these can run well over 20 inches and hand you everything a fly fisher could ask from a fight. Any expert angler should try their skills on Flat Creek. This is a wade fishing trip with no boat involved.
