Snake River Still running at 4,500 cfs from Jackson Lake Dam. This is a great level for the tailwater reach from a fly fishing standpoint and it has just started to come into shape this past week. Snake River The tailwater reach from Jackson Lake Dam down to Pacific Creek remains the only reach to not be in runoff conditions. Releases from the dam have been steady at 4000 cfs for a few days and the fishing has improved greatly and are at the right level for good fishing. Clarity is excellent. Snake River There has been some clearing on the Snake with the inclement weather we have had in over the past week. The bigger news is that Jackson Lake is very near filling and, to make room, releases from the dam have increased to 2,500 cfs. Flows should increase again once the reservoir is completely filled. Snake River The tailwater reach below Jackson Lake Dam continues to have the most reliable fishing, and this past week displayed a major uptick in action. Clarity is pretty much 100% and we are starting to see more and more surface activity as trout feed on Chironomids, blue-winged olives, and Callibaetis. Snake River The tailwater reach below Jackson Lake Dam remains the only reach of clear water on the Snake at the moment. Flows are at 550cfs and water temperatures are cold, but there fish are being caught on a variety of nymphs and streamers.
