Snake River Flows from Jackson Lake Dam have ramped up to 2000cfs and this has put the fishing into a bit of a challenging situation for the next couple of days. When it stabilizes, things might get back into what we had for the prior two weeks, which include diverse emergences of Calinuria golden stones, the smaller Aloperla stones, green drakes, yellow sallies, caddis, and PMDs. Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for July 3rd, 2023
Snake River Caddis and flavs are still there although waning, but strong emergences of yellow sallies and golden stones remain. Green drakes and PMDs are also present. Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for June 23rd, 2023
Snake River Runoff peaked almost a month ago, flows are receding, and the Snake is getting into solid early season shape with caddis, flavs, yellow sallies, big goldens and the smaller alloperla stones emerging on all reaches (the latter of which is heavy from South Park down to Sheep Gulch). PMDs have also been out in bits and pieces. The infrequent salmon fly is also around below the Hoback confluence. All hatches are popping around…

Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for June 12th, 2023
Snake River Flows from Jackson Lake Dam continue to stand at 280cfs. Lake turnover has subsided and there is increased visibility. The most productive nymphing water includes seams, eddies, and deep flats. There is surface action on midges and, on wetter day, with…

Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for May 31st, 2023
Snake River Runoff slowed a bit a week and a half ago but it is in full swing again, making the tailwater reach below Jackson Lake Dam the place to be for a while. Flows remain at 280cfs. The lake is in turnover but hasn’t slowed the action, which has not been stellar but at least respectable some days. The spillway is crowded but still worth fishing if there is shoulder room. Further downstream, eddies,…
