Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for June 19th, 2020

Snake River Runoff is beginning to subside on the Snake and we are within a couple weeks of fishing the river with confidence.  In the meantime, the best results are coming from the tailwater reach where clarity is very good and flows from the dam have been reduce to 2,800cfs.  There is surface action in bits-and-piece in eddy pools and slow runs along banks with moderate depths.  Small attractor, midge and caddis imitations are the…

Snake River Angler Fly Fishing Report for June 9th, 2020

Snake River Flows from Jackson Lake Dam are currently at around 4,500cfs.  The tailwater reach above Pacific Creek continues to have the best visibility.  Jackson Lake, however, is in turn over, so that visibility is far from crystal clear.  Nonetheless, there is still around three feet of clarity.  Don’t expect off-the-charts action, but there are fish to be had. South Fork Flows from Palisades Reservoir stand at approximately 15,300cfs.  Still around three feet of visibility on the upper reach and around two feet on the lower reaches.  Water temps are cool so surface action is not in the cards most days.  Nymphs and streamers, however, have been performing in a respectable manner.  With the higher flows, fish double and triple nymphs rigs with between nine and twelve feet of leader from your trailing pattern…
